A skillful transfer of an old Ticino house into the elegant modernity. With the use of high quality materials and a successful architectural realization, a very tasteful house has been created.
The highlight of the house did not need to be changed but is perfectly present-the sensational lake view and the view of the Brissago Islands from virtually all rooms and from various terraces. The interior design appears very harmonious due to the consistent use of few, noble materials. The entire house has a uniform stone floor, the bathrooms all have identical bathroom furniture and the materials of all base cabinets are identical. Even parts of the kitchen or the installation of the wine refrigerator follow this choice of materials. Wall cabinets, doors and wall plaster are all in white and allow personalization with furniture, pictures and fabrics.
The space is spread over a total of four floors, but all connected by an internal elevator, which can be a convenient alternative to the very decoratively designed staircase. The entrance floor of the house is reserved for a small studio with its own open kitchen and shower-bathroom, accessible by its own entrance. Guests would certainly be very welcome here.
On the second floor is one of the bedrooms, generously sized with atrium and its own shower-Bathroom. All rooms are very bright thanks to lake view windows and the Brissago Islands are also visible here. On floor up the master bedroom with dressing area and side exit to the terrace and balcony is domiciliated. The bathroom with bubble tub and shower has LED light design and a beautiful window, which even allows a “lake-view-shower”.
The third level is reserved for living and kitchen, supplemented by a guest toilet with washing machine and dryer.
An opening of the roof up to the roof beams, which are kept modern with light wood, results in a wonderful room height. In addition to generous sliding windows to the wide front balcony and side terrace, skylights on one side of the room allow even more light incidence and nightly spectacle of a starry sky. For cozy hours on cooler evenings, the fireplace can contribute its part, complemented by good wines from the extensive wine fridge selection. The equipment of the open kitchen, with breakfast bar, leaves nothing to be desired, including a warming drawer.
The entire floor looks bright and open, and in the summer doubles your space when opening all the sliding doors to the wonderful terrace. Large granite terraces on two levels and on both sides of the house are surrounded by old trees and Mediterranean planting. A square granite table under trees with direct view to lake and Brissago Islands is definitely the summer favorite place.
In the exterior house design, old granite stones were partially exposed in the plaster and a side part of the house is clad with the same quarry stone found in the slope walls of the house. As a design detail, metal sheets with modern pattern design were applied to two windows, the front door and at the entrance to the studio, which are movable at the windows. All balconies are made of glass, so the perfect lake view is guaranteed from all floors.
